The death of a 27-year-old Fallbrook man Sunday morning of a gunshot chest wound is under investigation by San Diego County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives.
Martin Kolb, described as an unemployed laborer, died at 8:45 a.m. at Palomar Hospital, about five hours after the shooting in his Brandenburg Lane home.
A friend who was with him at the time said Kolb was “handling a handgun” and it discharged, Sgt. Greg Reynolds said. Reynolds said no more information was available on the shooting.
