Suspect Held in Fatal Attack on Seattle Family
SEATTLE — A man was arrested Thursday for investigation of homicide in the stabbing death of a woman during an attack that left her lawyer husband and their two sons critically wounded, police said.
David Rice, 27, who was being held in the King County Jail, described himself as an out-of-work steelworker, Police Chief Patrick Fitzsimons said.
Charles A. Goldmark, 41, and his sons, Derek, 10, and Colin, 12, remained in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center on Thursday. They suffered puncture or stab wounds around the head and blows from a blunt object, police said.
Annie Goldmark, 37, died of stab wounds to the neck and chest, Mick Fletcher, an investigator with the King County Medical Examiner’s office, said.
There were no signs of forced entry or theft at the Goldmark home, which sits on a bluff overlooking Lake Washington in the city’s Madrona neighborhood. Fitzsimons said he did not want to speculate on a motive in the attack.
