E.S.I. Industries Receives Order Worth $29 Million
E.S.I. Industries Corp. of Costa Mesa said it has received a $29.4 million order, from Consumer Communications Corp. in Troy, N.Y., for 4,900 of its electronic coupon-dispensing terminals for installation in an eastern supermarket chain.
In addition, said Robert L. Burr, E.S.I.’s chairman and chief executive, the two companies have signed a 5-year contract for E.S.I. to provide a total of up to $50 million worth of the terminals. He said that Consumer Communications will be supplying the terminals to food stores operated by Peter J. Schmidt Co., a Buffalo, N.Y., division of Loblaws Inc.
