Westwood : Academic Averages on Rise
Freshmen entering UCLA in the fall had higher academic averages and Scholastic Aptitude Test scores than those of incoming freshmen last year, university officials announced.
The grade-point average is up to 3.69, from 3.66 last year, they said. The SAT verbal score average was 503 compared to 491 last year, and the math score average was 574 compared to 562.
“UCLA is becoming more selective and, as a result, is attracting better academically prepared students,†said Rae Lee Siporin, director of undergraduate admissions.
