CAST SHIFTS AT THE OLD GLOBE
SAN DIEGO — Actor Ellis Rabb has been replaced in the role of phonetics Prof. Henry Higgins in the Old Globe Theatre’s production of “Pygmalion.†Rabb was forced to withdraw from the remainder of the run because of a throat infection.
Replacing Rabb is James R. Winker, who has substituted for Rabb in several performances of the George Bernard Shaw comedy. Winker’s role of Freddy Eynsford-Hill will be played by Neil Alan Tadken. Mark Hofflund will replace Tadken as a bystander in the first scene.
Winker has appeared in several roles at the Globe in recent years, including Clarence in “Richard III†this summer and Touchstone in “As You Like It†in 1982.
“Pygmalion†continues through Jan. 12.
