‘Book’ Is a Good Four-Letter Word
For prodigal Nick Mikulicich and his parents to lay so much emphasis on sheer pure reading has impressed me immeasurably. (Youth Proves He’s a Quick Study; Shakespeare at 3, College at 13,â€(punc?) Times, Nov. 14.)
Not only that but Nick seems to get a bang out of books! It sounds almost like heresy in this day and age of computer technology. Or could it be that it will inspire others to rediscover the wheel?
Book may be a four-letter word but there is nothing like the joy of reading. And a book is like a frigate taking us lands away, to misquote Emily Dickinson. Bravo to all the Mikuliciches.
