Moorpark Pulls Away Late to Beat Palomar in Mid-State Tournament

Moorpark College’s Danny Berryman scored 29 points to lead the Raiders to a 77-72 victory over Palomar in the first round Thursday of the Cuesta College Mid-State Bank Basketball Tournament in San Luis Obispo.
With the score tied at 69, with less than four minutes left, Moorpark went on a scoring spree to cap the win. Steve Camp had 18 points for the Raiders, and teammate Steve Abraham had 16.
Loser Palomar moves into the consolation bracket. The Comets beat Valley, 68-57, in the consolation final at the Antelope Valley College Tournament last week.
