Student, 14, Shoots 3 at School

PORTLAND, Conn. — A 14-year-old student opened fire with a semiautomatic rifle in a junior high school today, killing a custodian and injuring the principal and a secretary, police said.
The student was taken into custody, but authorities did not release his name because of his age. They said he had a “confrontation” with the principal in his office. The slain custodian was identified as David L. Bengston, 36.
