SDSU Women’s Basketball Tournament : Aztecs Defeat New Orleans, 60-58

San Diego State, led by freshman forward Jessica Haynes’ 22 points and 10 rebounds, beat NewOrleans, 60-58, Saturday night to win the Dial Classic women’s basketball tournament at Peterson Gym.
New Orleans (4-2) was within 56-54 of the Aztecs with three minutes to play, but Haynes made a baseline jumpshot and Pat Reed put in a followup to secure SDSU’s second win in four games.
Rice added 12 points for the Aztecs, and Shelda Arceneaux scored 10 and had 12 rebounds. Carmen Reed led New Orleans with 14 points.
