Canyons Tops Citrus to Win Moorpark Consolation Title
College of the Canyons beat Citrus, 89-75, Saturday night to win the consolation title of the Moorpark College / Camarillo Kiwanis basketball tournament.
Canyons shot 66% from the field. Guard Vincent Ray, a sophomore, had 28 points and 8 rebounds, and made 8 of 12 from the line.
The Cougars (2-3) led, 47-35, at halftime, and maintained at least a 10-point lead for the rest of the game.
Forward David Strauss contributed 14 points for the Cougars.
