WARSAW — Polish leader Wojciech Jaruzelski left Warsaw on Saturday for an official visit to Libya, the first stop on a three-country tour of North Africa, the official Polish news agency PAP reported.
Government spokesman Jerzy Urban said earlier that Jaruzelski was expected to meet Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi and visit a Polish military cemetery in Tobruk during his two-day visit.
Jaruzelski will also go to Algeria and Tunisia at the invitation of the leaders of those countries, Urban said.
