Team That ‘Backs In’ at Least Is One That’s Back in the Rose Bowl

Backing in is an overused and misapplied expression. Yes, UCLA lost its last game, an important game, and made mistakes in doing so. However, the conference record is 6-2 and shows victories over the two second-place teams. The Bruins are clearly the best team in the Pac-10 and will compete well with Iowa. Let’s throw out the backing-in line and watch them win on New Year’s day--again.
