Existing Home Sales Up 1.2%

WASHINGTON — Sales of existing homes rose 1.2% during October and the median price edged up $100 to $75,600 after falling for two straight months, a survey by the National Assn. of Realtors showed today.
The modest rise in sales followed a 1.4% decline in September and an 11.5% increase in August, the association said. The West led the nation with a 7% improvement in housing resales, 17.3% ahead of a year ago, it added.
