West Covina : Fire Office Opens
The state fire marshal’s office has opened a new Southern region headquarters at 1501 W. Cameron Ave. The Southern region, which oversees branch offices in Bishop, San Luis Obispo and San Diego, was formerly located in downtown Los Angeles. Activities at the facility will include checking plans for buildings used by the public, assisting local fire departments in consulting and training, and operating an arson and bomb investigation unit. Ed Seits, chief of the special services division, said the headquarters was moved because access is easier for local fire departments.
