Actress Brooke Shields and former Ram and Washington Redskin Coach George Allen will be the co-hosts for the National Fitness Academy Bike Ride today. The ride will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the California Museum of Science and Industry in Exposition Park and will cover most of the 1984 Olympic Marathon course.
Bike riders of all ages will be joined by celebrity riders Christopher Atkins, Kim Fields, Olympic greats Rafer Johnson and Bob Mathias and others. The ride is co-sponsored by Southland Corporations’ 7-11 stories, Murray bicycles, and Stroh’s beer.
Proceeds will help build the U.S. Fitness Academy in Orange County. The March of Dimes is providing volunteers for the event and will receive a portion of the funds raised.
