San Diego County’s manufacturing output hit a record $10.5 billion in 1984, up 21.7%, according to the San Diego Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Research Bureau. After adjusting for inflation, “real” manufacturing growth increased 18.8%. Total value of 1984 exports was $779.2 million, up 13.7% over 1983.
