Business Parks : Malibu Canyon Park Under Construction
Completion is scheduled this month for Phase 1 of the $30-million, 16-acre Malibu Canyon Business Park adjacent to the Ventura (101) Freeway at Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes Road in Calabasas. First-phase construction funding of $15.5 million was provided by Sears Savings Bank.
On completion the park, being developed by the Johnston Group of Century City, will have eight buildings totaling 337,000 square feet of space. The architect is Gerald Leonardi of the O. K. Earl Corp. Leasing is handled by Grubb & Ellis, Sherman Oaks, which has signed Wyle Laboratories as the first tenant, to occupy a 44,000-square-foot building now under construction. McKellar Development has begun construction of Plaza Del Mar, a two-building, 60,000-square-foot office complex on 5.76 acres in the 128-acre San Diego Corporate Center on High Bluff Drive off Interstate 5 at Del Mar Heights Road. Completion of the $18-million complex is expected in November. Construction Scheduled
A December construction start is scheduled for Torrance Center, a $25-million, 12-acre office park being developed by MAR Development Corp. of San Diego at Torrance Boulevard and Western Avenue. The architect of the park’s five two-story buildings totaling 220,000 square feet is Conwell-Marshall & Associates, Dinwiddie Construction is the general contractor and Coldwell Banker is the leasing agent. Phase 1 of the Cypress Business Center, 6363 Katella Ave., Cypress, in the 400-acre Cypress Business Park, has been completed, according to Cabot, Cabot & Forbes, the developer. The four-building increment offers 167,000 square feet of office/research-and-development space on 8.8 acres in the 22.5-acre center. Building Being Designed
A two-story, $896,000 office/research-and-development building being developed by Doerring & Associates in Daley-Booth Business Park on Viewridge Avenue, Kearny Mesa, San Diego, is being designed by Conwell-Marshall & Associates of San Diego. Construction is scheduled to begin this month for completion in late April, 1986. The general contractor will be Neilsen Construction Co., San Diego.
