The surprise thing about Jerry Ginsburg (Letters, Oct. 19), “The Joy and Dismay of Discovering Spiders,” is not just that he went to such lengths to kill a few innocent spiders in a garage, but that he seems so proud of it.

I can’t help wondering what his other achievements are.
