Arcadia : 2nd Test of Freeway Noise
The city of Arcadia, which disagrees with the state Department of Transportation over whether noise levels along the Foothill (210) Freeway are high enough to qualify the city for a sound barrier, will conduct a second noise test of its own, said Chet Howard, public works director. If the test shows sound readings exceeding 70 decibels 10% of the time, and Caltrans agrees, the city will be placed on a state waiting list for the barrier. The test, to cost $2,000, will be conducted on the south side of the freeway between Altura and Monte Vista roads.
