Volleyball Roundup : Arizona St. Women Trip Fullerton

Tammy Webb had 18 kills and Valentina Vega added 11 Friday night to lead the 10th-ranked Arizona State women’s volleyball team to a 16-14, 15-8, 11-15, 15-13 nonconference win over Cal State Fullerton in Titan gym. The Sun Devils are 17-7, the Titans 8-18.
In community college action:
Jennafer La Paglia had 7 kills, 4 blocks and 4 aces Friday to lead the Golden West College women’s volleyball team to a 15-2, 15-4, 5-15, 15-3 South Coast Conference win over Mt. San Antonio at Golden West.
The Rustlers (8-0 in conference and 8-2 overall) have now won 26 straight SCC matches dating back to 1983. Karen Knight added 8 kills and 4 blocks for Golden West. The Mounties are 1-7 and 1-9.
In other South Coast Conference action:
Orange Coast 3, Fullerton 1--The Pirates (5-3) defeated the Hornets (2-6), 15-6, 15-11, 6-15, 15-6 at Fullerton. Freshman middle blocker Michelle Lazorek led the Pirates with 11 kills and freshman setter Ann Javage added 35 assists and 4 aces.
Saddleback 3, Cypress 1--The Gauchos defeated the Chargers, 15-8, 16-14, 15-5.
