Gaston Green ‘Is Close to Being Ready’ and May Play Against Washington State

UCLA Coach Terry Donahue said Thursday that sophomore tailback Gaston Green, who has been sidelined for the last four games, will accompany the Bruins to Pullman, Wash., for the game against Washington State Saturday.
Green sprained ligaments in his left knee in practice Sept. 17. He practiced in pads Wednesday for the first time since being injured.
“Gaston is feeling better, and I think he is close to being ready to play,” Donahue said. “We will take him with us to Pullman and see how he feels Saturday morning. If he feels OK, he will probably see some limited action against Washington State.”
Green hasn’t played in a game since he rushed for 194 yards against Tennessee Sept. 14. He gained 55 yards against Brigham Young Sept. 7, the only other game he has played in this season.
