Pomona : Trade Program Given Funds

A two-year international education and trade information program proposed by Cal Poly Pomona has received $550,000 for its first year from the U.S. Department of Education. The program is designed to promote better understanding of international affairs among Cal Poly students and managers of small- and medium-sized agricultural businesses.

The program addresses the problems associated with establishing trade programs in Third World nations, with special emphasis on Africa. The first phase of the program, which will begin as a 1986 winter-quarter course, will include multidisciplinary seminars led by guest lecturers speaking on agribusiness in Africa.
