Rim of the World 28, Trabuco Hills 24--Brent Forsythe scored on an 18-yard run with two seconds remaining to lead the Scots to the victory over the Mustangs at Lake Arrowhead.
Trabuco Hills appeared to be headed for its first victory when Jeff Dooley kicked a 29-yard field goal with 1:12 left to give the Mustangs a 24-21 lead. But Trabuco Hills couldn’t hold on.
Rim of the World scored on the first play from scrimmage when Jeff Vance ran 58 yards for a touchdown, but Trabuco Hills came back on a 65-yard touchdown pass play from Brett Miller to Augie Adkins and a 69-yard touchdown run by Ray Walters to take a 14-7 halftime lead.
Walters ran for 198 yards on 21 carries, while Vance had 102 yards on 9 carries. Vance added a 13-yard touchdown run in third period and opened the fourth with 2-yard scoring run that gave Rim a 21-14 lead.
Greg Sparks’ two-yard touchdown run with 5:35 left tied the game, 21-21.
