Brown Leads Loyola to 24-7 Nonleague Victory Over La Habra
Loyola 24, La Habra 7-- Senior Bernard Brown scored two touchdowns and the Cub defense held La Habra running back Chuck Weatherspoon to 49 yards on 11 carries before 2,000 at Glendale High School.
The score was tied at halftime, 7-7, before Loyola (4-1) scored on a third-quarter field goal by James Roughan, then extended its lead over La Habra (3-2) with two fourth-quarter touchdowns.
Quarterback Dan O’Neil led Loyola, completing 14 of 20 passes for 138 yards and two interceptions, both to safety Adolf Renaud.
