Screenwriter Melissa Mathison (“E.T.â€) is in Wyoming adapting “Son of the Morning Star,†Evan Connell’s best-selling novelistic treatment of Gen. George Armstrong Custer, for a Viacom/NBC production. Earlier, she completed a script for Steven Spielberg based on the European comic book character “Tin-Tin,†a 15-year-old boy who, along with a changing cast of characters, is adventure-prone.
