Edison’s defense turned in an impressive performance, especially in the secondary. Cornerback Casey Jones had a hand in two of the Chargers’ three first-half touchdowns. He spoiled Notre Dame’s opening possession, picking off John Benz’s first pass and sprinting 55 yards untouched to the end zone. . . . Jones closed out the first half by intercepting another pass and returning it 30 yards to the Notre Dame 30. . . . Three plays later, Edison’s Kaleaph Carter scored the first of his two touchdowns.

KEY PLAYERS

Mike Angelovic (E) passed for 164 yards and Kaleaph Carter (E) ran for 101 yards. Tailback Shane Martin scored Notre Dame’s only touchdown with a 75-yard run late in fourth quarter. Running back Nate Miline (ND) was one of the only offensive standouts for the Knights, gaining 50 yards on 15 carrries.
