Man, 53, Shot to Death After Argument in Bar
A 53-year-old Mission Hills man was shot to death after an argument that started in a Pacoima bar early Saturday morning, Los Angeles police said.
Robert Alvarado was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills, where he died, Detective Robert Muldrew said.
The shooting took place about 1 a.m. in the parking area of a closed gas station near San Fernando Road and Desmond Street. Police said the incident followed an altercation involving Alvarado that started at the Cancun Bar, 11263 San Fernando Road, and moved across Desmond Street to the service station.
Alvarado was a retired copper miner and had moved to the San Fernando Valley from Globe, Ariz., about a year ago, police said.
