Carpet Store Owner Arrested: A Placentia carpet store owner was arrested Friday on charges that he took down payments from his customers, then failed to deliver and install the floor coverings they had ordered. Burgen Wrenn Trobaugh, owner of Placentia Floor Craft on East Orangethorpe Avenue, was booked into the Orange County Jail on 10 felony counts of grand theft and nine misdemeanor counts of theft by fraud, said Scott Audiss, a Placentia police spokesman. Trobaugh was held in lieu of $25,000 bail, Audiss said. The complaint filed against Trobaugh alleges that he “took down payments ranging fron $500 to $2,300, from 19 customers, for floor coverings that were never installed.” Trobaugh’s arrest late Thursday, at a Buena Park motel where he lives with his family, followed a monthlong investigation by Corinne Loomis, an investigator for the Placentia Police Department, Audiss said.
