Don Men Defeat Mt. San Antonio, Cypress

Rancho Santiago College won a double-dual meet Wednesday to successfully open its men’s South Coast Conference cross-country season.
The men’s team beat Mt. San Antonio College and Cypress, 15-50, while Mt. SAC also beat Cypress, 15-50. Don freshman Ramon Lopez, a Mater Dei High School graduate, took individual first-place honors with a 20:42 clocking over the four-mile course.
The women’s team competition was won by Mt. SAC over the Dons, 21-34. The Dons beat Cypress, 15-44, and the Mounties beat Cypress, 15-50.
The top Rancho Santiago runner was sophomore Kelli Miller, who took second place, finishing 40 seconds behind winner Arlene Ebner of Mt. SAC on the three-mile course.
