A pipe bomb exploded at the San Francisco office of the Humanist Party, and police defused another bomb discovered near a temple filled with people attending Rosh Hashana services, officers said. Police said the explosion caused minor damage and no injuries. No arrests have been made. Myers said the Humanist Party has branches throughout the world. The organization’s aims include an end to discrimination, jobs for all and free health care. Police said an anti-Zionist message was found attached to the bomb discovered on a wall adjoining a temple school behind Congregation Beth Sholom. The police bomb squad defused the device within two hours of its discovery.
