Jim Beam, chairman and chief executive officer of Beam Associates, mayor of Orange and member of the Orange County Transportation Commission, will receive the William H. Spurgeon III Award on Thursday at a luncheon benefitting the Boys Scouts of America, to be held at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel.

On Sept. 28, Beam will be named U. S. Mayor of the Year by the We Tip organization at the group’s national convention in Ontario.

Proceeds from the $75-a-plate event will go to the Boy Scouts Career Awareness Program, according to Greg Geck, Boy Scouts of America district executive.
