Landscaping Work Started Along 4th Avenue

Work will begin this week on temporary landscaping on the sidewalk along the 4th Avenue side of Horton Plaza, redevelopment officials announced.
The Centre City Development Corp., in conjunction with Horton Plaza developer Ernest W. Hahn Inc. and the Gaslamp Quarter Council, developed the plan to connect the plaza with the Gaslamp Quarter by installing a concrete, landscaped walkway leading to the center’s garage elevator.
Landscaping will include large ornamental pots with shrubs and trees. Hahn will finance the project, which will be replaced after the company submits permanent plans for the area to the city’s redevelopment agency in 1987, when construction of the San Diego Art Center is scheduled for completion.
