Santa Ana : Zoo Fest to Help Pay for Monkey Exhibit

Natives of the Aberdare Mountains in Kenya will relocate to Santa Ana under a plan to construct a “Monkey Island†exhibit at the Santa Ana Zoo.

To help pay for the primate project, the zoo is selling tickets for a Zoo Fest ‘85, a night of entertainment and dinner scheduled for Sept. 21 at 4 p.m. Tickets are priced at $7 for adults and $3 for children under 13. The event will include free admission to the zoo, a chili dinner and a raffle.

The exhibit, which will be located near the zoo entrance and is at least a year from construction, will feature such tenants as black and white colobus monkeys and duikers, small African antelopes.
