Whirlpool Corp. has named two vice chairmen as part of the Michigan-based appliance company’s transition before the anticipated retirement of the current chairman and chief executive, Jack D. Sparks, in December, 1987.
In a statement, Sparks said Executive Vice President George E. Wardeberg, 50, would become vice chairman and chief operating officer Sept. 1.
David R. Whitwam, vice president-sales, was named vice chairman and chief marketing officer.
