Thousands of Jews left behind in Ethiopia during a secret airlift that brought thousands of others to Israel are starving to death, an immigrant leader said. Yaffa Hadana, wife of an Ethiopian Jewish leader, said her brother, Yetahun Kalef, wrote from Ethiopia’s Gondar province that “all the Jews here are in difficult circumstances. They are languishing in hunger, going to die.â€
