Police Find Woman’s Body, Seek Boyfriend
Los Angeles police are looking for a 29-year-old man whose live-in girlfriend was found dead in a Canoga Park apartment, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said.
Detective Steve Brazner said the body of Mary Rubenstein was found in an apartment at 8631 Northgate Ave. at 7:30 p.m. Friday after police received an anonymous call.
Rubenstein, 32, was described by neighbors as the live-in girlfriend of Gary Robert Rubenstein, Brazner said. Neighbors said the woman and her boyfriend had a loud argument Thursday afternoon, Brazner said. Gary Rubenstein was seen leaving the apartment later that evening in a 1973 blue Datsun pickup, the detective said.
Brazner said police considered Rubenstein, last seen in Sepulveda at 11 a.m. Friday, a suspect in the killing.
Brazner said police were not sure of the cause of Mary Rubenstein’s death.
