CHICAGO — A city bus rammed into a car that tried to cut in front of it at a busy lake front intersection today and crushed the auto beneath it, killing seven people and injuring 60, authorities said.
A spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department said the injured were being treated at the Soldier Field parking lot, where 7,000 people were in line waiting for a Bruce Springsteen concert tonight. At least 10 ambulances were at the scene, he said. The Jeffrey Express bus, which had been traveling south on Lake Shore Drive, had to be lifted off the car with a crane.
