Associated Press
PHILADELPHIA — Two officers of a used-clothing export firm pleaded guilty today to federal charges that they paid off Salvation Army officials for a steady supply of clothes they resold to Third World nations after agreeing to cooperate in an investigation of the charitable organization.
Harry Usatch and his son, Jerald Usatch, pleaded guilty to one count each of conspiracy and mail fraud under the agreement with the U.S. attorney’s office. Sentencing was deferred pending the completion of their cooperation with authorities.
