The body of a drowned 8-year-old Long Beach boy has been found floating in the Los Angeles River near Pacific Coast Highway, police reported. The body of Keng Wang was discovered several hours after 40 police officers, scuba divers and lifeguards halted a nightlong search of the flood-control channel. Rescue efforts were delayed for several hours because children who saw the boy slip into the murky river were afraid to tell their parents they had been playing in the dangerous area, Long Beach Police Sgt. Tim Chamberlain said.
