Applied Data Reports Plunge in Quarter Profits
Applied Data Communications of Tustin said first-quarter profits plunged 75% to $83,000 from the year-earlier total of $337,000. The company, which makes computer memory devices, said sales for the quarter ended June 30 dropped nearly 11% to $3.1 million from $3.5 million a year earlier.
President Pat Kane said the results reflected the “continuing soft domestic market for personal computers†and related products. Kane said the company’s international sales have not been affected by the slump and accounted for approximately 42% of first-quarter revenues.
