Armand Hammer, the 87-year-old chairman and chief executive of Los Angeles-based Occidental Petroleum, was discharged from UCLA Medical Center after minor prostate surgery.â€He’s going home today and he feels fine,†said Frank Ashley, an Occidental vice president. Ashley declined to elaborate on Hammer’s condition, but in response to a question he said the surgery detected no signs of malignancy.
