An inmate at the men’s central jail crawled out of his cell through an air duct but was found a short time later hiding in another part of the jail. Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Adams said the inmate, Daniel Gorsuch, 21, was awaiting trial on charges of possessing an explosive device. Deputies on a routine check of the cells noticed Gorsuch’s cell was empty, and found him hiding in a secured room at the other end of the air duct. An additional charge of attempting to escape may be filed against Gorsuch, Adams said. He was being housed in the hospital section of the Bauchet Street jail because of burns he suffered before his arrest, Adams said.
