Local News in Brief : Suspect, 30, Sought in Stabbing Death
Police were searching Sunday for a North Hollywood man who is suspected of fatally stabbing a Studio City man at a birthday party late Saturday in Burbank, authorities said.
Burbank police Sgt. Frank Reilman said that an argument broke out at the party about 11:35 p.m. outside a home in the 100 block of East Providencia Avenue. Witnesses told police that during the argument, Kenneth James Rell, 30, grabbed a steak knife and stabbed Steve Paul Sandaval, 25, once in the heart, Reilman said.
The men reportedly had a fistfight before the stabbing, police said. Sandaval was pronounced dead at the scene by Burbank police officers.
