Local News in Brief : 3 Arrested in Rape at Hansen Dam Park
Three Pacoima men were in jail Sunday on suspicion of raping a woman in a car at Hansen Dam Park, police said.
Los Angeles police Officers Ted Briseno and Michael Moulden said that, while they were patrolling the area at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, they found a 19-year-old woman standing beside a car crying. She said she had been raped by three men who were walking away from the scene, Lt. Maurice Rubio said.
William Bryant, 20, and Daniel Meekin, 21, were arrested on suspicion of rape, police said.
Police said a third suspect, Willie Gable, 20, fled and was chased on foot by police. He was caught at 8:30 a.m. after police conducted a house-to-house search of the surrounding neighborhood using police dogs. He was arrested on suspicion of rape, police said. Before Gable was taken to jail, he was treated at County-USC Medical Center for a dog bite on his left thigh.
The woman, also a Pacoima resident, said she had accepted a ride from the men because she recognized them as residents of her neighborhood.
