Seven New Principals Named: Garden Grove Unified School District will have seven new principals this fall--five in elementary schools and two in high schools. All of the appointments were effective July 1. Robert Mesa, former assistant principal at Rancho Alamitos High, has been named principal. Mesa succeeds James DeLong, who is the new principal at Garden Grove High. Former Garden Grove High Principal Lou Cangiano will take a post in the district administrative office as director of secondary education. The five new elementary school principals are: Laura Schwalm, Bryant School; Jim Franklin, Rosita School; Karen Jensen, Mitchell School; Judi Smith, Allen School, and Frank Branda, Faylane School.
