“Sixteen Days of Glory,” the official film of the 1984 Olympic Games produced by Bud Greenspan, will have its world premiere July 29 at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
Greenspan has also produced the critically acclaimed “Numero Uno” and “The Olympians” series.
The premiere is a benefit for The Los Angeles Times Fund, the newspaper’s charity organization which supports activities for underprivileged youngsters in Southern California.
Athletes expected to attend are Carl Lewis, Rowdy Gaines, Peter Vidmar, Mitch Gaylord, Paul Gonzales, Evelyn Ashford, Greg Louganis, John Moffet, and Valerie Brisco-Hooks, each of whom is featured in the 2-hour 20-minute film.
Tickets for the premiere, which includes a buffet reception, may be obtained through The Times’ Special Events Department.
