Maher Signs Letter to Play at Chapman

Doug Maher, a 6-foot 2-inch, 185-pound first baseman-outfielder from Santa Ana College, has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Chapman College next season.
Maher, who played at El Toro High School, hit .400 for the Dons as a sophomore, and earned second-team South Coast Conference honors.
Chapman also signed Mike Cruz of Oxnard College. Cruz, a 5-7, 155-pound second baseman, hit .425 and was voted Most Valuable Player of the Western State Conference.
