Singer Booked on Drug Charge
A singer for the Temptations singing group was booked on suspicion of cocaine possession this morning after officers who stopped him for speeding in the Lennox area found one-third of a gram of the drug in his pocket, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Ali Ollie Woodson, 33, who recently joined the group, was stopped at about 3 a.m. for going 52 m.p.h. in a 35-m.p.h. zone, deputies said. After booking, he was released on $2,500 bail. The popularity of the highly successful pop group peaked in the 1970s with such hits as “The Way You Do the Things You Do,†“Cloud Nine†and the Grammy-winning “Papa Was a Rolling Stone.â€
