The Southwestern Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum today will accept its first corporate grant, a $5,000 check from the Atlantic Richfield Co.
The 13-year-old museum will use the money to fuel engines for its twice-yearly demonstration shows at the museum at 2040 N. Santa Fe Drive in Vista. The museum’s last show in June raised $50,000 and was attended by about 12,000 people, said a museum spokesman.
The spokesman said the museum, which is staffed by volunteers, hopes to be able to fund more frequent demonstrations.
