Ashton-Tate to Move to Larger Headquarters
Software developer Ashton-Tate will move to new headquarters in Torrance later this year because the company has outgrown the converted warehouse that it now occupies in Culver City, the firm told shareholders Tuesday.
Shareholders at the annual meeting also approved an increase--to 25 million from 14.3 million--in the number of shares of common stock that the company is authorized to issue. Ashton-Tate said that the extra shares could be used for an acquisition but that it has no such immediate plans.
About 350 of Ashton-Tate’s 460 employees worldwide will be affected by the move to a leased building at 20101 Hamilton Ave., the company said.
